Job Summary :
The Head of English is responsible for leading and managing the English department within the school. This role involves overseeing the development and delivery of the English curriculum, managing a team of English teachers, and ensuring the quality of English language education within the institution.
Key Responsibilities :
- Curriculum Development: Develop and maintain a comprehensive and effective English curriculum that aligns with educational standards and objectives.
- Teacher Leadership: Lead, support, and evaluate English teachers, providing guidance and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching quality.
- Student Achievement: Monitor and analyze student progress in English, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance student achievement.
- Resource Management: Manage departmental resources, including textbooks, educational materials, and technology, to support effective teaching and learning.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Implement assessment strategies and evaluation processes to measure student performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Parent and Stakeholder Communication: Establish and maintain open communication with parents and stakeholders regarding student progress, departmental initiatives, and school goals.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other department heads and school leadership to promote a cohesive and well-rounded educational program.
- Professional Development: Stay current with educational trends and best practices in English teaching, attending professional development opportunities as needed.
Qualifications :
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Teaching certification and a minimum of [5] years of teaching experience.
